As a keen sports player from a young age, Joe always had an interest in the capabilities of the human body and the consequences of the demands placed upon it. Joe followed his interests which lead him to graduating from Kent University, in the summer of 2010, with a degree in Sports Therapy, Health and Fitness.
He first started working in semi-professional football with many local clubs such as Dorking Wanderers/Staines Town FC/Croydon Athletic FC for around 2 years covering training nights and acting as first aid pitch side cover for match days.
In early 2012 he started working evenings at St Anthony’s Hospital, Cheam. He spent 4 & ½ years assessing/treating and working with a wide range of patients in the general public. It was here that Joe took his first yoga class and has been a regular yoga participant ever since, completing a course looking at ‘yoga and its effects on the anatomy’.
Joe joined Millwall Football Club in 2013, working his way up to 1st team Lead Sports Therapist providing soft tissue massage & other sports therapy treatments, for the players, during their Championship & League One campaigns. In his time, he oversaw pitch side cover (alongside the Head Physio) for over 170 competitive 1st team games during a 4 year period which included 2 trips to Wembley, getting promoted back to championship in the 2017 League One Playoff Final at Wembley stadium.
